An event named A Social Act on the Road was held by Komunitas Karyawan Muda Dekenat Jakarta Timur (Young Professionals Community of East Jakarta Dekenat) on 16th August 2009 to celebrate the oncoming 64th birthday of Indonesia’s independence on the next day. Two main activities of the event were a motorcycle tour between Tebet Station and Citayam Station in Jakarta and a social act, which was giving donation to guards of level crossings between the two stations. The committee of the event invited Jakarta branch of IRPS to participate in the event. The event was also supported by PT Kereta Api, Artha Graha Peduli, Pertamina and FIF.

Slamet Haryadi of IRPS accompanied the event committee in field survey on 9th August, whereas Agra Wisesa Hermantoro, Aswin Simatupang and Leo Krisanto gave their hands on the D-Day.

At least 40 people on motorbikes started the tour from Strada Duren Sawit elementary school in East Jakarta at 8 AM. While on the road, the participants handed over donations to guards of level crossings. The IRPS team also introduced duties and responsibilities of the guards, helped the donation distribution and framed the activities. While the participants interacted with the guards, the guards reminded them that barriers provided on level crossings were intended to secure speeding trains from colliding with other vehicles.

The tour ended in Mardi Waluya elementary school in Cibinong, West Java, at 2 PM. The IRPS team were given the opportunity to introduce the organisation. The head of the committee, Ignatius Wibowo, handed over a souvenir to IRPS, whereas IRPS handed over a photo of ESS3201 electric locomotive (by courtesy of Artanto Rizky C) and Lokomotif magazine, which was entrusted to IRPS by Yos, a staff member of PT KA Operation Region I Jakarta.
