On December 3, IRPS took part in third test-run of a diesel multiple unit (DMU) on Bogor-Sukabumi, West Java, line. The IRPS team consisted of Budi BS, Hedwigus WDA, Saleh Purwanto, Asep Suherman, Leo Krisanto, Andreas A, Aditya TK, Cahyo H, Mighty Bowo, Indra HS and Untung Rustadi. The DMU in green livery—named Si Bumi Geulis—had business-class standard seats, LEDs for lighting, fans, onboard toilets, fully-functioned doors and holders for standing passengers.

The DMU departed from Manggarai Station at 8.50 AM. Its first destination was Gambir Station to pick up Chief of 1st/Jakarta Operational Area of Indonesian State Railway Judarso Widyono and his staff, Chief of Public Relations of 1st/Jakarta Operational Area of Indonesian State Railway Akhmad Sujadi and journalists.

The train left Gambir Station at 08:30 AM and arrived on platform 2 of Bogor Station at 09:18 AM. After a short check, the DMU departed Bogor. It ran for 40 km/h as per speed limit on the line. On the line between Bogor and Sukabumi were several stations and shelters on Bogor-Sukabumi line, i.e. Batutulis, Ciomas, Maseng, Cigombong, Cicurug, Parungkuda, Cibadak, Karangtengah, Pondok Leungsir and Cisaat. The passengers were given varied beautiful sceneries while the train was on Batutulis-Cigombong line, such as paddy fields, hills, rivers, and Salak Mountain in the distance. Unfortunately, on the Cigombong-Cicurug line, the view was not so spectacular for there were many illegal buildings on both sides of the rail tracks.

Sukabumi Station was still being renovated. Some parts of the station were being painted.

Then the DMU departed Sukabumi Station at 12:45 AM to Bogor. Many people were attracted by the train when it passed them. At 2:45 PM It arrived in Bogor Station. It continued its journey to Manggarai and then to Gambir. The Si Bumi Geulis’ service on Bogor-Sukabumi line was inaugurated by Minister of Transportation on December 13, 2008 in Sukabumi.
