This event was held on August 24, 2008 and coordinated by PT Kereta Api Daerah Operasi (Operation Division) I. It was also supported by Indonesian railway communities, such as IRPS, Kompak, KRLMania, Maska, GM Marka, etc.

All participants had gathered in the outer hall of Jakarta Kota Station since early in the morning. They were arranged into three groups: red, blue and green. At 7:30 AM the ceremony began. After that the participants started retracing the line from platform 5 and 6. They walked to the depot and continued to Kampung Bandan Atas Station.

While retracing the line to Ancol Station, the participants saw illegal buildings had grown on the tracks. Of the two lines, only one was still functioned. At 9:22 AM the participants arrived at Ancol Station.

Then they continued walking to Tanjung Priuk Station. They stopped at PJL 11C because personnel of Pamong Praja Task Force of North Jakarta were removing illegal huts in BMW Park. After it was considered safe, they continued the journey.

Finally, at 10:32 AM, they arrived at tanjung Priuk Station. The lines between the home signals and the station were full of illegal huts. They were the homes of the poors and made the location become a vile settlement.

After a short break and lunch, the participants watched a documentary film about the history of Tanjung Priuk Station. At 11:20 AM, a special train—consisted of CC201 74 and three economic-class passenger cars—arrived from Pasarsenen Station. The train would return the participants to Jakarta Kota Station. But before the participants boarded the train, the committee of the event cast lots. The prizes were tickets of air-conditioned economic-class EMU, Argo Gede, and Parahyangan.

After some photo sessions, the participants returned to Jakarta Kota Station

Great event….wish i had been member, hehehe….
Need more caring, it’s great railway station, or at least it was. It’ll give us more pride if this station is preserved well and even be used as active station again as it used to be.
Immensely beautiful, Stasiun Tanjung Priuk. I once went there with my friend and we just looked at the ceiling with awe. I wonder if the authorities will operate the station again?
Waiting forward to reading article regarding Stasiun Solo Jebres and Stasiun Sangkrah (Solo Kota)…
nice article!
Just read in newspaper: they’re going to operate this line in 2010. Wow. Seeing how big the Tanjungpriok station is, I suspect in the past it was quite important. How could it be abandoned like now? What had happened?
Yes, Indonesia is beautiful. I like this
