On July 13, 2008, in cooperation with IRPS, Sahabat Museum (BatMus) community held Plesiran Tempo Dulu (PTD): Spoorwegstations Op Batavia. Its participants were 120 people. Sampurno, Risman Hudiyanto, Leo Krisanto, Aditya Dwi Laksana (IRPS Chairman) and Artanto Rizky Cahyono (IRPS Jakarta Secretary) represented IRPS. Mr Ahmad Sujadi (Chief of Public Relations of Operation Region I) represented Indonesian State Railway (PT Kereta Api).
1. JAKARTA KOTA STATION
The participants watched a documentary film about the history of Jakarta Kota Station. The participants, guided by Sampurno, Aditya Dwi Laksana and Leo Krisanto, explored the station while being informed of the history and the architecture of the station. At 09.15 all participants boarded an electric multiple unit (EMU) on platform 11. The EMU served the Jakarta-Bogor line.
1. JAKARTA KOTA – MANGGARAI
While on the way to Manggarai Station, Mr Ahmad Sujadi informed the participants about the infrastructure in Operation Region I. The train arrived at Manggarai Station at 09.45.
2. MANGGARAI WORKSHOP
Mr Agung of Balai Yasa Manggarai greeted the participants. Then they watched a documentary film about the history of tram in Jakarta and Surabaya.

Aditya Dwi laksana presented the preservation programs for Werkspoor-Hemaff (WH) electric locomotive, i.e fund raising, locomotive cleaning, etc, and the results of the programs, including—in cooperation with the government of DKI Jakarta Province—the preservation of the WH electric locomotive as a static statue. Mr Agung, who was involved in repairing the electric locomotive, explained the latest condition of the currently-rehabilitated electric locomotive.

Then the participants walked to the parking area where the WH electric lcomotive sat on. Artanto Rizky Cahyono told the history of the construction of Jakarta-Manggarai-Bogoro railway line, its electrification and types of electic locomotives which had served on the line. He also told of the history and technical details of the WH electric locomotive.

3. TANJUNG PRIUK STATION
Two other documentary films were played in the station hall. The first film was a part of a report about the station from DAAI TV, whereas the second one was recorded before World War II.
Guided by the staff members of the station, the participants explored the station, including the underground room. Unfortunately it was flooded, therefore the participants were not allowed to enter the room.
The purposes of the activity were to provide information about the railway history in Jakarta, to introduce Tanjung Priuk Station and WH electric locomotives, and to trigger (maksud kata memicu kurang begitu jelas maksudnya. memulai/initiate?) preservation programs for historical railway assets in Indonesia.
IRPS, as an organisation which cares about the historical railway assets in Indonesia, determines to preserve the WH electric locomotive—in cooperation with other institutions—as a remembrance for future generations.
This tour was very well organized. I still have very good thoughts by idea so many people were interested in the history of the public transport in Jakarta (and also the rest of Indonesia). Highlights of the tour were the very nice preserved Bonbon and the visit to Tanjung Priok station. As the ESS 3201 was built in the Netherlands it was run as a prototype on 3-rail line (1067mm and 1435mm) in Hengelo, where it pulled standard gauge goods wagons: See http://www.geschiedenis.nl , HEEMAFfilm or http://www.holechistorie.nl There is also a large model of Bonbon in the HEIM-museum in Hengelo.
Best wishes from the Netherlands and congratulations for the nice results with the preservation of Bonbon.
